Here's the deal:I purchased a 1998 180sx SR20 Blacktop engine set from Jarco Inc. back in January. The set came with everything I need to drop the engine in. Great service from Michael. The fuel pump it came with was kinda weird though .

Can anyone tell me what kind of fuel pump this is or how I can make it work?

Thanks

Yeah but I don't feel like spending money on a fuel pump.

Ahhh yes, the ever so common DSM/ Honda mentality. "I just spent XXXX.XX on a motorset, but I want to use 'what I got' around the garage [mysterious parts] to get it running."

Despite it's beefy appearance, you don't want to skip out on something as important as a fuelpump, especially when you can get a brand new, proven, reliable fuelpump for as little as $100.

Well then you should feel like getting rid of your SR20 and stop being a ****in idiot. Seriously.

I agree with Tulsa 100%.

Get a walbro or a Z32 pump.ORRR call Jarco and ask them.

Alright guys calm down.

I am going to call Jarco on monday when they open and I am sending an email to them tonight.

I wasnt going to use this pump unless I absolutely had to. I hate ghetto-rigging things to make them work. I mean the pump was held on by zip ties.

And please don't say I have the DSM/Honda mentality. Thats just mean.

Talked to Michael at Jarco. Also found out that it is a Z32 fuel pump. He says that I can send it back, but that I am probably better of with this pump.

What do you guys think?

Should I try to make it work?

Also do you guys know if there is a difference in a N/A Z32 fuel pump and a TT Z32 fuel pump?

Thanks

Cool man, how exactly did you secure the pump to the fuel pump hanger?

Did you use the rubber mount/o-ring piece at the bottom of the hanger piece?

Would you hump a dirty slore with a used condom, or a new one

Quit being a cheapy and get an 85 dollar walbro kit and KNOW that all will be well.

If you're moaning over the price of a fuel pump, you've chosen the wrong hobby to get involved with my friend. True story.

Ok, I respect your opinion and I do agree with you somewhat, but...if the pump works for the setup and if it doesn't then Jarco will replace it for free, then why not try it. I don't have a job until this summer. Maybe then I will purchase a Walbro, but until then I want to at least try to get this to work.
