So I was wondering when I bought my Pathfinder why there was a Farka GPS antenna mounted to the dash.. These cars I know didn't come with GPS on them, so why did Nissan put this on our cars?? Or was it aftermarket install from the previous owner?

Yeah that's definitely aftermarket. The factory GPS antenna was under the dash behind the clock. That's aftermarket. If you don't use it (if you're head unit isn't a navi unit) then you should remove it.

I want to! But its like glued on, because its not coming off! The antenna connector to the stock BOSE headunit I have looks to have a modified Antenna cable.. It has two wires coming out of it, one runs to the antenna the other I think runs to this.... Could the last owner also have put in an XM unit?? Only thing is, I couldn't find an XM unit in this car lol

The other antenna wire you're talking about that looks like it goes to that GPS antenna is actually going to the AM antenna which is that little line that goes up the middle of the windshield. That GPS antenna is magnetized to that little plate it's sitting on top of and that little black plate piece is stickied to the dash. If you apply some heat with a blow dryer or something similar it should come right off.

It very well may have been used for satellite radio or a GPS unit. Have you looked under the dash at the wire coming from the antenna and see if it goes anywhere (like aftermarket XM module which piggybacks onto factory stereo head unit)?

All the surprises my car gives me.. I've got soo many wires, and things the previous owner left.. Like this antenna, the Nokia HandsFree U-2 Unit I found behind the radio, the mic by the sunroof controls, the wire under the passenger seat... Man oh man, what did I get myself into?
