Hi guys, I'm new~! I've always followed the boards as a visitor, even back when I had my Skyline GT-R, but now I've got my winter beater, the 300ZX NA, and I need to know a few things~!

1. I was on the highway today, and I shifted down to 3rd gear from 4th under heavy, slow traffic, and the car died. I twisted the key very slightly and it started right back up again. What's up with that~!?

2. I also came home, and parked her, and she smelled like a burning vaccum (ie rubber). I opened the hood and it smelled even MORE like it. My car is just an NA 2+2...

What could be the problem guys? Any input!?

Thanks for letting me join the boards.

Here's my car:

For the stalling, I would check the MAF connectors, clean them. Also, clean the TPS, and water temp sensors.

As for the burning, you just have to look around the engine bay.
