i am new to this board.. but i have had a share of 240sx.. i currectly own a 1995 240sx se.. i am having a weird noise coming from the front of the engine.. my friends and i think it is coming from the intake of some sort.. it sounds like i am losing air rather than taking it in.. only happens during load on idle and accelarating.. and while accelarating i have no power or torque what so ever.. if you have had this problem.. please can you give me the heads up.. or if you know what is the cause of it.. thank you in advance.. it is greatly appreciated

I cannot resist saying that for the intake to leak air out rather than leak it in would require either forced induction or extremely messed up timing.

On a more serious note, it sounds possible from the description that you have an intake leak somewhere between the MAF and throttle body. This would cause an 'extra' intake sound and a lean condition as the ecu does not know about the extra air leaking in and does not add fuel to compensate. So it sounds like you're on the right track. Can you try to locate a leak somewhere? I dunno about the kade, but I've seen huge cracks on that rubber piece connected directly to the throttle body on more than one kae.

PS: Welcome!
