I haven't had a chance to take a good look at my '93 240sx convertible, or scour this forum enough to find a simple answer. But i'm having weird electrical problems. I thought a fuse was blown, and that's why the clock wasn't working. However, the clock started working two days ago for some weird reason, so I figure I'd post.

The clock screen's been blank the whole time i've had the car, then suddenly the time showed up...as 1:97! 1:97!? WTF?

So, does anyone have any idea what could be going on?

1. Clock doesn't work2. Rear quarter windows don't work (no sound from motor, window lock is def not on)3. Horn doesn't work4. Light in ash tray doesn't work5. Cruise control buttons on steering wheel don't work. (Cruise button on dash does)6. Lights don't turn on in wheel well (dome light is missing)7. Buttons on A/C controller unit don't light up8. OEM CD player doesn't work and radio doesn't light up.9. top works perfectly

I don't know the history of the car. The carpet was changed recently for the sale (kind've weird)

What could be going on?!

Did you check the fuse? TCU unit might have gone bad. It's a small white box under driver's side kick pacnel.

Ya, I haven't looked at the fuses yet. But, I would that cause the window motors go out? OR MAKE THE CLOCK READ 1:97?

I see the white box, but am not sure how to access it. is there a fuse inside the box?

the tcu does not have a fuse in it. it is just a printed circut board. all you need to do is remove the 10mm bolt and unplug the harness.

Sounds like what happened to my cousin's S14.The first thing I did when he brought the car to my house was check the terminals on the battery, and sure enough...The positive terminal has two wires branched off of it. One is the actual wire, and the other is a red (I believe) clip that one or two separate wires plugged into. That wires going into that red clip were totally screwed (one of the wires literally had a screw holding it into the clip).Make sure that those main wires, off the positive terminal battery, are in good condition. It makes sense now that they lead into the cabin and just power everything in there. My cousin's head and brake lights worked, I believe. But nothing inside the cabin lit up.

To fix it we just bought a new terminal from Autozone. If necessary to might have to solder some slack onto the wire after you cut it; it was a tight fit.

Hope that helped.
