Mine does that when it's cold. Time to replace or rebuild the alternator. My truck is in storage now so I won't be worrying about it till spring.

Alternator is going, replace with QUALITY one or have original rebuilt. Autozone ones are cheap but fail a lot, with warranty it is free but you have to replace it and that is a pain. Pay and get your factory rebuilt or make sure you pay a little more and get a good one. Skip the autozone crap, they are junk. Napa or nissan, if you can afford it nissan, courtesyparts.com tell them you are member of twinturbo.net or nico they give discounts and can ship from texas anywhere ground in 2-3 days and will be cheaper than local nissan even after shipping. I have used them many times, great guys and good business.

Is belt slipping at low revs? I have seen a belt slip cause erratic charging
