When I'm driving at freeway speeds, I've noticed this high pitched electrical noise that occurs only when the accelerator is pressed no further than 1/4 throttle - basically just enough to maintain 65-70mph in sixth. I would say it's about the same pitch as the noise from rubbing the rim of a crystal wine glass, but many octaves higher to be almost imperceptible, much like the hum from the back of a CRT television set.

This noise has occurred since the car was new (a whole 1800 miles ago) and is 100% reproducible. As such it gets a little annoying on longer highway trips.

Has anyone else noticed this on their V? Do you think the dealer will try and track it down and fix it under warranty?

Different people have different ranges of noise that they can hear. I am also one of those people who can hear obscenely high-pitched noises (Like sonic bug zappers, which are supposed to be out of the range of human hearing).

I have heard an "electrical" type noise on my V if I turn off the stereo. I just chalked it up to the type of plugs installed, since sometimes you can get an electrical noise from spark plugs.

I doubt that your dealer would find this problem, it first hinges on the problem being something that your technician can actually hear, and second hinges on it actually being a problem vs. a design oversight.

When you have the CAI installed you can hear a weird noise when your just tap the gas, it is the electronic throttle body.
