So anyone who knows me knows that I have a power problem in my Z.

I recently disconnected my stock alarm unit, it was amazingly easy btw and has not effected anything. FYI I have an aftermarket alarm with all the amenities you can really buy installed by yours truly.

Disconnecting the unit did not do much in my parasitic loss measurements, but it helped a few millivolts, maybe 10-15.

but while I was going over everything and testing all the fuses I came to 2 trouble spots

The row 3 #1 fuse (10A "Room L, THEFT, DOOR LOCK") Rated 9.12 voltsandThe row 3 #6 fuse (7.5A "PASSIVE BELT") Rated 9.33 volts

Now every other fuse was rated 9.60 volts. Now I realised this is low, and my multimeter indicates this because you should be grounding 10 volts or more about to be considered fair parasitic loss.

I was retesting items on the Z with the #1 fuse but something weird happened when I was testing things and opened the passenger door. The volts shot up to 10.35. Closed the door it dropped to 9.3. I took the door close sensor off completely and same result. I would also like to state I have the small light that lights the foot well area out, took them out a long time ago because I thought they were the problem. Could that be a problem?

Otherwise under these conditions and testing I am confused. Any ideas? The pass door holds the key right now, I loose a full vollt and a half from some source only when the pass door is closed. When it is open I get a 10.35 volt rating and I can live with that until I change my seat belts to harnesses and get back those 30 millivolts from the PASSIVE BELT.

Any help, appreciated before I take it in to some mechanic who will do everything I just did and charge me for it

btw the drivers side door does not do this at allmy pass door does need to be re-aligned. Is there any sensor in the door itself that may be drawing this type of power? still not sure on that one

anyone?

I found one major source I think, there was a short in one of my gauges. The wiring for the grounding of the gauge was cheaply soldered and came out. Having the stock Alarm control unit out too has helped some, and certainly is less annoying as well.
