Weird diff?? noise

I have a 1985 Datsun 720 double cab 4x4. It has an L18 petrol in it. It has started to make a weird rattle from the rear when im decelerating, any suggestions as to what it could be?? Any help would be appreciated

I got all motivated this afternoon and whipped the diff out. The problem was a little roll pin in the middle of the diff had broken in half. Easily fixed. Will try to get some pics up of my truck ASAP as its my pride and joy

interesting. my diff makes noise when i break suddenly, but thats about it.

that pin is a big problem with nissan diffs, most people I know take it out and weld it together. Then no chance of it braking.
