Car is a '96 na. ECU has diagnostic knob and car has OBD2 port. The OBD2 port of course gives me No Codes. When I put the ECU into diagnostic mode I get 10 slow flashes the 5 quick flashes. This doesn't make sense as I haven't been able to find any code that matches this.

Any thoughts?

I quickly breezed through the EC section of the 96 FSM and if its a code 1005 then its an ERG Solenoid Code. I'm not sure because the troubleshooting section for the 96 is very different from the OBD1 cars and I didn't read it in detail.

Ok, we did delete the EGR.well. bypass it. I got the delete kit from Z1 with the electrical cap plug thing. That is plugged in. Should the solenoids have been left installed and connected. I still have those, just not installed

NO clue, my car is completely gutted of all emissions and custom tuned. Never had to deal with it. Its likely that the OBD uses resistance to test for presence of the system. You may need to read up on it and play with a few different resistors in line. IF you still have the EGR valve, test the resistance through the contacts and try to emulate it or try plugging the valve back in and clearing the codes to see what it does. It could be using the O2s to measure EGR efficiency and when it doesn't see a change in the gas mixture when the EGR is supposed to be operating its throwing a code. This is uncharted territory for me in the practical sense so it's all theory.
