I'm pretty new to the ka-t game and have been running into a weird issue on long drives.

when i drive the car short distances its completely fine. i just got done with a 3 day drift comp here in Colorado and the car drove amazing. but anytime i get on the highway after about 20 minutes of driving the car starts cutting out and it gradually gets worse until I cant even maintain 20 mph.

so far ive replaced the o2 sensor, spark plugs, and mafs, tps, and reset voltage.

setup is 95 ka
rs enthalpy ecu
550cc injectors
z32 mafs
gt2871r
xcessive intake manifold
aeromotive fpr

im stumped help!! :wtf2:

Maybe your ignition ignitor or coil is overheating or something?

Possibly. Would that be in the dizzy on an s14? I wonder if the fuel pump is overheating hmmmm

Yup, the coil is inside the damn dizzy on the S14. If you're gas tank is over a 1/4 full I'm pretty sure it's covered in fuel, so I don't think it's getting to hot. But I'm not always right and that's just an opinion. I assume you have a 255lph pump?

I can't picture the underhood temps being that much higher on the highway than they are during a drift competition. Is there are long period between runs? Does it usually occur when you're driving at a steady load, like the highway etc?

Intermittent problems are such a pita to troubleshoot.

yes i have an isis255 lph pump

on the track we were running at times we'd be doing run after run after run without more then 5 minutes in between.
car will run great when i first start it and drive it. i made it to the race track 22 miles away and it barely kind of cut out right when i was getting off the interstate. then the next day i left and made a 8 mile drive north to get fuel. on the way back to the track it started acting up on half a tank. car sat and ran fine the next day and a half. got on the interstate after it was all over and ran great till i got 18 miles into my journey then it started cutting out getting worse and worse till i couldnt even maintain 15mph on city streets. I made 40 or 50 runs on a small course setup for noncaged tandem and never had a single issue :/

Its killing me because i dont have a truck and trailer so i cant make any more events as the rest of the seasons tracks here are both 2 or so hours away and i cant even make more then a 20 mile journey straight through without it cutting out. not sure why its only on constant drives but when im beating the piss out of it at the track its fine

I guess get back to the basics and see if its a fuel problem or timing/spark problem.

Do you have a wideband on the car?

i had an innovate wideband but i think the sensor took a s***. when it would start missing it would go full lean though but the sensor failed before the problem got worse then just a little hiccup here and there. i think ill start with a new wideband sensor i just dont know where to go from there. im getting 45 psi fuel pressure at idle cant see it while im driving and its cutting out so idk

Knock sensor or knock sensor circuit is grounding out in harness.
