a few months ago my sr'ed 240's clutch pedal stuck to the floor or close to it, it was stuck in gear and when i let off the pedal it stayed to the floor, i had to reach down and pull my pedal back up, after that it would be fine for a bit then do it again. after a while i just learned to picked it up with my toe, but its still a pita and its not right so it needs to be fixed... i am wondering if its the actual clutch assembly or the clutch itself, or possibly a master or slave cylinder. let me know...

more than likely the master cylinder. if it all works like normal except having to pull it up manually though, it could be the hinge on the pedal pivot, does it feel like its sticking, or like a blown hydraulic rod/piston??

its not a blown hydraulic line or anything bc i am not losing fluid and it only does it every once in a while... a while ago a bolt fell from up under there ( i think before it started this) and i looked around the clutch pedal but i couldnt find a spot that needed a bolt... but as long as it isnt the clutch then i dont care because the engine is going into a now 240sx that has brand new master and slave cylinders already on it...

So it's the cylinders?I think it might be my clutch going bad. could it have caused problems with the cylinders?

Problems: 1) Car stays in gear. 2)doesn't want to go into reverse for the love of God when the engine is on.3) Doesn't want to move until I hit boost (4.5-6K type boost)4) Just today (like 15 mins ago) the pedal stuck to the floor and wouldn't come back up even when I pulled on it a bit.5)when I got it into neutral, it didn't want to go back into gear.

it seemed when the clutch "warmed up" a bit, it was more responsive. that is...until the pedal stuck and didn't want to move.

n.b: car used to shudder when I got into gear, but apparently that was from a loose cold pipe improperly connected, so the car was running rich, breaking up etc. but couple that with problems above, yo ucould see my concern...

mine does that, it kind stick to the floor but comes up after i let off of the pedal, it sounds like a old house door squealing i think its just that the pedal its self could use a lube job or some wd40 or somethin but i could be wrong. im checkin out tomorrow.

My mechanic friend says the pedal sticking is most likely the slave cylinder.and my car sticking in gear would be the pressure plate.

I had the exact same problem and i have an act clutch. Fortunately i simply replaced the slave/master cylinders, bypassed the damper box, bled it, and never had the problem again.

hey.. i have the act clutch too.. and installed anew slave/master cylinders and bypassed the damper box.. is your new master cylinder shorter than the stock ones??? the one i got is nabco and is like half inch shorter than the stock one.. now the clutch is so close to the bottom.... is that okay??

the reason why i changed them was because i had problem shifting first and second.. now i still have problem with 1st gear.. why is that?

bleed the system (including the damper box), and MAKE SURE IT'S ADJUSTED PROPERLY. this can cause all sorts of problems, especially if your pedal is too low. try picking it back up an inch or two. pedal too low (if it's just above the point where the clutch starts to disengage, it's TOO LOW). if that's not it, check the master and slave cylinders for sure. you can check them without buying new ones, but new ones are really cheap. like $15 for slave, maybe $30 for master, and another ~$35 for a stainless line. so for only $80ish you can have a like new hydraulic system that feels way better than rubber + damper box.

but first bring your pedal up a couple inches and see if it goes away.
