i just finished installing my boost designs stage 1 kit! i took it out for a test run and all i can say is WOW!!! this thing pulls harder than an SR! well... i was just driving it for about 30 mins then i pull over and fill up with gas... then i get back on the road. this time, when i hit boost... it feels like nothing... no pull. whats going on? it doesnt feel like i am hitting boost at all! the BOV still sounds when i let off the gas so that means i still am hitting boost but i dont feel it. so i think its a boost leak and i go home. i leave the car on and i spray WD40 on all of the hose couplings... nothing happens. whats going on? is it a boost leak or something?? i hit boost b4 and now i cant... i am also getting the stalling problem ppl all do when they have a BOV not recirculated but i didnt know that it would stall this much... i am also running the FMU disk that came with the kit... it feels like the car is running ULTRA rich or something because when it stalls and i try to restart the car... it sometimes wont start... SOMEONE HELP ME!

check your manifold. Is it cracked?

first you should fix the problem you have with the bov recirc, just make something work for now... just to make sure thats not it... then get a boost gauge, cheap ones ok... just so you can make sure your hitting boost, atfer you have those and your still not making power you might have a better idea of why not, and then you can give us some symptoms( no boost at all, boost drops off at 5k rpm etc.) then it would be easier to get a better response...

fix what you KNOW is wrong first

your running rich because a boost designs kit comes with a 12:1 fmu disk which is way to much for 8psi....you should get a wideband and a boost gauge..

fabio...just because the manifold is from BD doesnt mean it sucks...they had bad customer service but their parts were good and people had good results with them...they're not SSA

unless sunnys14...you happened to get his manifold after they changed it into **** mode...but if your manifold cracked it would sound like a EXHAUST leak which is really loud and crappy

I can tell you what your problem is and it is not the FMU or cracked manifold. I experienced it many times. BD IC piping on the hot side that connects to the turbo is at an angle and there is not enough straight piping to connect your coupler. I know this is a problem and have pointed it out to PJ several times and sent him pictures. He told me he was going to fix it like so many other things that he was going to do and never did anything. Here is a picture of how I fixed this problem. Notice the extension of about 1 1/2 inches. Since this modification I have not blown coupler off the turbo.

I used T-Bolt clamps on my intercooler pipes from BD. They haven't blown off yet.

That is funny a lot of people have been saying but I have had no problems. I installed a MBC and it has been staying on 10 psi with no problems.
