I searched but haven't found any suggestions on this issue. I have done an alignment 3 times over a period of one year and every single time the steering goes off center to the right about 3-5 degree. This happens in a week or two after the alignment. The car also pulls to the left slightly, more so over bumpy road surface. Two mechanics have checked out my suspension and everything is tight and even. I also have K&N springs and illuminas shocks installed, but even before the shocks I had this issue. I also changed the strut mounts and the stabilizer links recently and it didn't help. This really drives me nuts and I want to get to the bottom of this once and for all. Any help would be appreciated

It's just whoever is doing the alignment is not setting the clear vision on the steering wheel. It just takes a little more time to align the car and make sure that the steering wheel is aligned properly.

Thanks for the reply but I really think this is not the case. I got the alignment done in 2 different places. I made sure the steering was set dead on center each time. But after a week it goes off center and every time to the right, while the car pulls left. The tires are not to blame, I have a new set with no difference. I can provide the last alignment sheet if needed. Any other ideas? Rack and pinion?

My mechanic was unable to solve the issue. Suggested getting rack an pinion for around 500 installed. What do you guys think ???

That doesn't sound bad price wise. I hope it fixes the issue.

Me and my buddy replaced my rack and pinion about a year ago ($300) now and I'm still having an issue just after I got an alignment at the nissan dealer today! I have new tires, but when I take sharp turns and bring the wheel back it wants to pull it away from me in the opposite direction?? My car still pulls to the right as well. Anyone else having the same problems? PS pump bad? idk

If the PS is bad its easy to check. Just raise your car on a lift, start it and drive same way as you do. If it pulls under acceleration then is power steering. We did this to my car but it was not the case. It was perfectly straight on the lift.

I have the same issue. Have aligned twice at the Nissan dealership but in a week or so it goes back to the same issue. I do notice some days it drives straighter than others depending on how cold it is. This is very frustrating because I've had it checked twice but they keep on suggesting replacing tires which are expensive when my tires have plenty of life left. If the alignment improves things what is making it out of alignment? I do have '07 350Z wheels on my Maxima but would this be causing the issue? Anyway let me know if you figure it out and I'll do the same.

It does pull under acceleration and I have already replaced my rack and pinion. Since my 240 has almost 200,000 miles on it, I think a new ps pump wouldn't hurt. After the holiday I will probably swap it out for a new one.

If the car was driven for any length of time and the front end geometry was off, the tires wore unevenly. This can make the car pull even though the front end is aligned properly. Try switching the front tires left to right and right to left. Then see if the car pulls the opposite direction it was before. If it does, the tires are causing the problem.

Ours pull to the left LOL. I'm actually giving up on the issue. I don't want to spend the money for a new rack and penion with a possibility of not solving the issue. Let me know how it pans out for you guys...
