In the process of changing the tie rod boots on my q, I had to stop in the middle of the job to get those rusted-on tie rod bolts torched off at a freinds place. So, I rigged the out of line, half loose bolts back on and took off: it vibrated like a mofo, on on side, when the wheels were straight, at certain speeds. Once I got said bolts torched off, I tried to re-align my car and I'm probably only off by one bolt thread, since subsequently, a minor vibration occurs, only when the wheels are straight. Wherefore, based on the foregoing, I would say an alignment is in order if, and only if, you turn your wheels, and the vibration stops. Otherwise, it could be anything........HOWEVER, get rolling, throw your car in neutral and turn off the motor to see if the vibration is comming from one of your motor's moving parts. (which could be anything from belts to injectors, who knows, good luck)
