allright, i haven't seen this one on here before: twice (once each in the last 2 weeks), while driving, an alarm has gone off IN the car. it's loud as hell, it sounds like it's coming from under the glove box, and it goes away if i switch the ignition off. as best i could tell, it was totally random in both cases. the only electronic mod (and you could hardly call it a mod) i've got is an aftermarket stereo. any thoughts on what might be causing this? car is a 93, just about bone stock. thanks. randy

Do you think it could be the Bose amp in the RT front door going out? It can screech like an alarm?

i don't think it could be. the amp would have been integrated in the oem speaker housing, correct? if so, i took the whole thing out and fab'd a plywood baffle to mount a 6.5 in speaker. but even if it were there, this thing is LOUD. i want to think it's the car's alarm system, but that blows the horn right? and as best i could tell, there was no horn honking, just a siren of some sort.

my uncle rigged a fire alarm, alarm under his dash board to go off with the stock alarm. and holy crap if i was going to steal his car that ear piercing noise would def stop me.
