The Z is just coming out of storage and I really want to lighten it up so it's faster than a skyline that I know. What would be possible to remove from the dash and door panals that would remove weight? Im looking for every possible thing that could be removed from this car to lighten it, and how mich weight would be saves by removing certain parts. Also, how much weight would be saved by using small carbon fiber side mirrors instead of the electro-defog ones?

Just gut it. Take out everything but the driver's seat and the necessary mechanical parts.

Why tear up a classic Z?

There's always going to be someone faster. Save your Z32 and build a beater to race with.

If you're really concerned about weight, look up project LOWFATZ.

If your Z really is American production number 147 though, DO NOT HACK IT UP. We will find you, and we will cause you bodily harm.
