Has anyone found a way to remove weight from the M45 without installing new parts? Or if new parts were added how much weight was taken off the massive M45?

I don't haul my golf clubs around (50 lbs) and I rarely put more than 10 gallons of gas at a time (70+lbs). Otherwise I guess you are referring to using fiberglass hoods/trunklids/etc. to drop weight.

Keep in mind, most of the EXTRA weight are there to make M45 a luxury sedan. You can definitely stripe it out to reduce weight, but then, you get a V8 powered Altima. Here are the stuff you can remove:1. Sound deadening material - about 200 lbs2. Power motors for seats, steering wheel with telescope.3. GPS system, DVD /CD changer.

If you go extreme, you may also remove the back seat, which weight about 200 lbs, as well as the spare tire in the trunk, which is about 40-50 lbs.

So, in total, you can shave out 600 - 800 lbs and the car will weight around 3200 lbs, which is very good for a V8 with that size.

i saved around 75lbs by putting on light weight wheels along with replacing full spare with winter 16'' wheel. also cut out all 3 resonators and replaced them with straight pipes and put new muffler.i assume you trying to go faster.each lb. you can take of the wheels it will be equal to 3 lbs taken of the car.so in my case was 3850 -120 lbs(light wheels),- 10lbs (spare)-25lbs (muffler/straight pips savings)=3695lbs

....i think im going to have to side with M45runner on this. the xtra 1/10 of a sec you're going to be saving by stripping down the car is in my opinion really dumb. this is an amazing car and if you want to go faster, don't treat this car like a honda or Nissan and strip every nice feature off this car. if this was a Nissan or Honda we are talking about then by all means, go ahead, but we're not.you guys all know how crazy i, and a few others here are, about going faster and faster. but ruining the ride quality to gain a 1/10 is not worth it.just get a tune and you will be much more happier. i know i will once i get my car back from the body shop.

UpRev can tune the ECU for faster response, etc.

Injen makes a nice intake

Stillen makes a nice exhaust

MotorDyne Engineering makes some plenum spacers (technically for the G, but it is for the engine itself not the car. So it works fine with an M too)

If you re-read my post, I was basically saying the same thing at the beginning. But, to help a member out (in case someone is desperately need to reduce weight of the car )

M45 is all about the balance - luxury and performance as a total package, so if go fast / save gas is the main purpose, this is not the right car, period.

it's not really much of an individual mod that i noticed an increase in performance, but a combination of them all together. i did KeninAZ's intake, a TB coolant bypass and a custom 2.5 inch X-pipe.next on the list is going to be a tune from Specialty Z here in SoCal.
