just remember fat weighs less the muscle per mass :)

I've been trying to gain 15 lbs for going on 6 years and the heaviest i got was 140 before losing it again :(

HashiriyaGDB wrote:yes 2000 is accurate, but only with sr20. About 2200 with KA. You have to rip out all unneccesary supports in the doors and side panels as well as the front and rear (including reforming the dash). Unless you have a roll cage, this can seriously effect your drifting ability and your handling without proper modification. In your budget i'm predicting that you will only want to remove your a/c, inner body pannels and carpeting in the trunk. Its a cheap and good start.

I saw a 2000 pound SCCA GT-3 KA-equipped 240sx as I said at a race. The guy wasn't lying to me. How are you so sure if this if you own a WRX? Do you have a 240?

I actually like to ride around with some of the creature comforts...

You know what I'm talking about. CD-player. Air conditioning... Adjustable seats. Power steering isn't necessary but is nice in parking lots.

if you are going to drag race then strip that ****** but in auto-x and stuff like that you will need to keep the car in a Balance, so if you remove some thing from the back of the car you need to remove some thing from the front of the car!

if you want weight reduction there is a company called nex that makes seats that only weigh 15 pounds or less, and just remove anything that you think you wont need, including the stupid sound deadener that stuff weighs a lot.

My race weight is 2965lb (S14+full interior+subs+180lb driver). I guess that's probably a lot of the reason why my car is so slow. What kinda weight can be dropped in an S14?

Infact, i've only ran at the track with my GF, so you can add another 110lb to that. 3065lb now.. No wonder i'm so slow.

I'd worry about the structure of those seats. You know, as in "able to take a hit and not breaking"...

Try turning your coupe/fb into a convertable. Chop the top off and weld on some extra bars for structural support.. and you get a lower center of gravity :D

What about the sound tar under the carpet and in the trunk. That good for about 15-25 pounds on most cars. You can realley tell when you toss the carpet back over it.

That's why I mentioned to weld some bars for support. ;)

because this thread wasn't supposed to be about how to drop weight, it was supposed to be about how much is possible to drop.

I'd think it wouldn't take too much to shave off a couple hundred pounds at the last if you were serious.

You could drop it to about 2k I think if you removed absolutely everything in the car and just kept it a track car.
