I have a 95 200SX SE-R and have been taking meaningless foam, metal, and whatever else I can to make it weigh less. I have already taken out the carpet, and the sound deadening material that covers the entire floor. The spare tire and all the misc. in the trunk, when I go racing on Sunday night I take out the back seats and all the rear panels and the passenger seat. I know about the drilling the holes in the bumpers, but dont want to effect my safety. If theres anything else, please let me know. Thanx

Air con is a good weight reduction and helps with power a bit too. Power steering is an option if you're pretty hard core about it.

The dash and such can go too if you don't mind the look. It depends on how serious of a weight reduction you're looking for. I wouldn't bother with drilling holes in anything.

You can also cut the extra layer of sheet metal off of your hood an trunk. just make shure to leave the clamps so it dont pop open, remove the ac, replace needed parts with lightweight material. Like nametakennow said it depends how hardcore you are and how much $$ your willing to put into it.

Theirs a thread on here someplace where a guy pulled parts off a 240 and showed the wieght differance between stock and aftermarket parts.

You can also take out your heater core. Thats what i did on my 240, if you take out the whole assembly you can save alot of weight because the blower for the heater weighs alot.

Is there any carbon fiber aftermarket for the 200sx? That would help out with the hood and fenders if so...

VIS sells fiberglass fenders, and anything they make in FB they'll make in CF, but it may take some talking to get it done.
