if you gut everything from the interior..you can at least loose 100 lbs...tar,carpeting and paneling, spare tire ,jack...you can gut the dash out to and loose a bit there..ac system..heating element...and loose the passenger seat..thats good for at least 30lbs its self..just so ya know..i got 45lbs of tar crap out my self when i did mine..good luck man

thanks bro yea we are taking out all the tar from in side the car and all the tar from under the car.. there will b no ac or power steering but we are keeping the heater cause it will still the street .. it will have both from NRG carbon seats ( 8 pounds each ) the problem is after the cage and the motor and the rear end it will add alot of weight back..

we are going with a ford 9in rear end and the motor is 262 pounds more then the stock ka..

so any other help to get rid of some weight will b great full

then i recomend gutting out the fuel tank and running a cell..allso i would leave the rear in place ..the S13 rear is pretty b0mber for drag or drift..that will reduce your wieght..last but not least..why not just turbo the ka?..you can tune a ka for upto 750hp with the rite combo's...more power than a SBC and a fraction of the wieght...if you add a larger power plant to the S13 then you allso need to upgrade the front to handle the extra load..and that =more wieght......you may need some more thought into some of the mods your doing for your race aplication..there might be a better way to go..thats cheeper.

thanks again bro yea we already have the sus figured out.. and we deside on the s15 rearend with a better diff..

yea we could build a 750whp ka sr rb whatever but no one has ever done the swap that we are doing it will b the first one .. i like all motor more then turbo and if anything we are going to add 150 shot .. but with just the motor will put this thing in the low 10s and still b a street car witch is what we are going for..

if u would like more info on the swap then pm me cause i will not disclose what it is on a open forum

ok i didnt know that .. but yes its a 01 viper gts motor with cams 10.1 comp pistons and some head work with a piggy back ecu.. it should b a very fun car to drive .. i have been working out all the oods and ends and now its its time to start putting it together.. so now its just the weight issue cause we dont want it to end up weighting the same as a viper

im sure what he paid for his motor is close to what my whole build was... viper swaps are very very cheap.. i got mine for 5500 and it was a full swap and had 13000 miles on it

replace the bumpers n fenders with fiberglass. You can drill holes in parts of the cars frame it wont lose a whole lot of weight but every little bit helps.

O_o or drop in the motor from that Jaguar XJS V-12 lol, nah your car would weight approximately ...infinity.. but fishsticks, v-10 should be interesting!

OH! and don't forget lexan winders, I'm sure you could lose a lot of weight replacing all the glass. The steel front and rear bumpers, those rear speaker brackets are pretty hefty lol, definitely the automatic seatbelt junk (motors inside the rear trim and the tracks), etc etc.

Oh one more thing, I hear the fiberglass doors are a good bit lighter
