weight questions need help

whats good everyone i have a few questions that i cant seem to find any answers too and need help..

ok so if a stock 91 coupe is 2699 lbs how much can u take out but getting rid of that sound tar s***??

replacing the fire wall and trans tunnel with a sheet of alum??

and doing a half tub front end from the strut towers up??

the car needs to weigh in under 3100 lbs with me in it and im 175

Well, if the car weighs 2,699, and your 175lbs, thats less than 3,100. But if you want to get rid of some weight, remove the pass. and rear seats, all of the sound deadning stuff, ect. I wouldn't go as far as replacing the firewall and trans tunnel though. I take it this is going to be a track car.

I agree If it is going to see some street time, I wouldn't go too crazy with the weight reduction. Also, if you have the money, dry carbon fiber parts will save you alot of weight. Like fenders, hood, trunk,ect.

we are doing the hood and trunk.. the fanders are going to b plastic with the metal fenders cut out... we are sticking some very big rubber under there so we need very very wide fenders... rear tires are 345 35 18 the rim is going to b 18x13 with a -43 offset

not as of yet .. we have ccw doing the wheels being that they are local and make every wheel to order...but if u would like to see what wheels we went with check out there site..http://www.ccwheel.com/files/home.php

the look at the lm20's...the front wheels will b 18x11.. like i said its a drag /street/ auto x so we went with wheels that are light and we can use everywhere...
