What would y'all guess the weight of the '93 convertible is compared to a '93 fastback and a '93 coupe?

They don't have it. I've researched just about everywhere on the net; that's why I just now decided to post the question on NICO.

what the hell are you feeding her, demitrious?

bone stock, a convertible should tip the scales at 2800 lbs (est curb weight). It's about 100 pounds heavier than a comparibly equipped coupe.

these convertibles require higher maintenance, dont they? I mean, there are more things to worry about, like the cover.

with the addition of any mechanical part, you have to understand that it could break at some point in time. Convertible tops rarely break unless you do something stupid, like not latch it down before you start driving. I heard of a girl who did that locally to her 240 'vert and bent the crap out of all the cross ties in the top frame.

The top cloth is meant to take the abuse of weather, so it's not a part that will wear out fast, but it isn't uncommon to see a bit of dry rot after 12 years.

So basically what I'm saying in respect to that is that the top will probably not give you problems, you have to create the problems (not keeping the top clean, using windex on the rear window, not latching it down, you get the idea). And when it does brake, it can get expensive.

I did something stupid back in december. I was installing new speakers in the back, and to make it easier on me, I put the top down for more room. I had the car in the garage originally while I did this, but I didn't put the top back up once I was done, and left it like that overnight. My father went out to the garage to go do some woodworking in the morning, so he moved my car outside. When I went to go put the top up, I cracked the rear window. It was a 200 dollar lesson of not to leave the top down when it will fall to very low temperatures.

In another thread, someone was asking how much to replace the top. I was getting quotes for top replacement and window replacement on my car, and the top came out to 650 at the cheapest place (but that place was considered the best in town. Go fig.). They unfortunately wouldn't do the window by itself, so I had to settle for another shop that cut my old window out and sewed a new on in for me. But if it happens again, I'll have to replace the top. That's the third window the car has seen (it had a previous replacement before I bought it)

that's what it says all over the net, but notice there's no definite weight listed in the fsm, supplement, or any nissan document. i had a tech and a few guys from another forum tell me that it was around 3K lbs, so i checked it out for myself. i believe the scale i used was pretty accurate since there's a very noticeable difference when i lift her up to put her on jack stands. my fastback was much lighter.

the full tank of gas accounts for almost 100lbs ebony's weight. with SR and manual transmission, your car should be under 3k.
