Does anyone have a scale that could weigh one for me? I'm guessing about 175?!?

The block, assembled with NO head, don't care about the oil pan?

Well thats why i was asking about the short block. It contains the crank, pistons, girdle, etc ALL of that stuff.

175 might be a little high, probably closer to 140 or 150 without the head and manifolds and everything. Say 100 for the block, the rotating assembly can't be more than 15lbs, and factor in another 20 for the crank and 15 for the girdle and oil pump. Its when you add the clutch, flywheel, turbo, manifolds, head, cams, pulleys, etc. that you start to pack on the weight. I have lifted a loaded short block by myself, and I'm not a big guy at all.

Well, I didn't mean the mani and turbo OR the clutch and flywheel, I guess I should have mentioned that, eh? I meant just the block, crank, pistons&rods, girdle and the main caps.

Am I a bad person?

probably..... o well **** happens right?

do you have a scale to weigh yourself at home? I usually use that to weigh things..... it isnt 100% accurate(due to fitting it and balancing usually) but good enough for UPS.

Ask me if you want any weigh for almost any part from a 200sx eudm.

Block only is 78lbs Head only is 27lbsCranckshaft is 29lbspiston is .98 lbs Con rod is 1.5lbs

Hope this help you ! i you really want i can give you the precise weigh of each part.

exemple Conrod is 1.545 lbs exactly

ooiy..... remember that time Tim, that you almost blacked out in my driveway dangit, then just hopped in the car with your friends and drove off leaving me thinking I was scared out of my mind dawg, had no idea what to think.

p.s. 20lbs was deff a shy estimate for the crank theya, deff closer to 30lbs of forged glory.

Gahaha hilarious. Yeah I was not in the best shape that day. Long night with a very large dusty bottle of Dewars white label the previous night....and that morning... Pretty embarrassing though, and I was lucky Bevin was there to catch me when I stumbled.

You were explaining your awesome 4 probe EGT setup. I still had it mentally, but the body said "no go."

the airplane EGT monitoring system that I have in every runner that people think im absolutely nuts when I explain to them what its for.

when I installed that 2871, i also installed the 4 bungs for the probes and have them mounted. now all I need to do is get my car running, going on 36hrs of slamming my head against the wall. Have had turbo and mani on and off a total of 6 times, god why does my car hate me right now??

ran perfect before turbo install.

paper towels removed from inside turbine housing - checkmaf, tps, water temp sensor voltages in range - checkno restriction in exhaust - checkno rags in intercooler pipes - checkcompression - checkgrounds in place - check

wtf I didnt do anything but install a turbo and my car hates me with a passion now

car starts but will not idle and has to be persuaded all smooth like with throttle to keep running, will not rev.

aright im done ranting i gotta go take it in the rear some more, im her ***** right now.

Ideally, I would want to be running a probe in each cylinder as well. I had looked at that same gauge online so many times, I was really jealous when I saw it.

Side note, I am loving the bulletproof MAP/IAT sensor setup Ive got right now. I can leave it sitting for ever and it fires right up. In fact, it always fires right up now no matter what.

i just pressurized the inlet of my turbocharger there aand uh, looks like manifold/turbo water/oil lines, exhaust coming back off numero uno 7 c.

ooooiy. f yes.

note: use silicone, rtv, or gasket shellac on non-blind holes on compressor housings even when garret tells you no need.
