Well thats why i was asking about the short block. It contains the crank, pistons, girdle, etc ALL of that stuff.rh wrote:just the block isnt that much i carried it by myelf yesterday. i would say around 80lbs. thats with nothing just the block
Well, I didn't mean the mani and turbo OR the clutch and flywheel, I guess I should have mentioned that, eh? I meant just the block, crank, pistons&rods, girdle and the main caps.r34 gtr wrote:Its when you add the clutch, flywheel, turbo, manifolds, head, cams, pulleys, etc. that you start to pack on the weight. I have lifted a loaded short block by myself, and I'm not a big guy at all.

Hi ! The short block with rotating assembly only(crankshaft, rod, piston) is 57kg so that's mean 125.8lbsDattebayo wrote:Does anyone have a scale that could weigh one for me? I'm guessing about 175?!?
The block, assembled with NO head, don't care about the oil pan?
Thank you very much!ser20det wrote:The short block with rotating assembly only(crankshaft, rod, piston) is 57kg so that's mean 125.8lbs
Gahaha hilarious. Yeah I was not in the best shape that day. Long night with a very large dusty bottle of Dewars white label the previous night....and that morning... Pretty embarrassing though, and I was lucky Bevin was there to catch me when I stumbled.ks13 wrote:ooiy..... remember that time Tim, that you almost blacked out in my driveway dangit, then just hopped in the car with your friends and drove off leaving me thinking I was scared out of my mind dawg, had no idea what to think.
