Hey, I'm no scientist. But as I was changing my oil today, through a highly scientific thought process I came to the conclusion that weight distribution on the i30/maxima must be something like 80:20 towards the front. So I want to do something about it. Can I? On my Xj6 and my E30, I moved the battery to the trunk. I was thinking about doing that because it would actually accomplish two things. 1) it would provide a little weight distribution 2) it would allow more air flow for my short ram But here is a question...if I do that and I relocate it to the trunk, will it throw the left, right weight balance off. After all the engine is to the right of the car. I don't want to upset that balance by removing the battery from the opposite side of the car.

Here is another question: Has anyone ever done this or am I just crazy?

i guess it would help handling, but it would reduce traction to the front wheels, making your 1/4 mile times worse?

Good point. But being more of a mountain roadist at heart. I want more handling rather than straight line power. If I wanted to post record times on the 1/4 mile, I would fire up my '69 Charger R/T But with rising gas costs, that might cost me my FSTB and my KYB's...haha

For improved handling, you could always install coil overs, and get the car corner balanced.

OOOOOoooo...AHHHHhhhhh

That sounds like a fun Saturday activity to do. Thanks for the site. As for pics, I will get those up as soon as I put them on. I only just received the springs and I am waiting for the shocks, so I would say by my birthday I'll have them both on. What a good b-day present huh?
