Okay you guys, lets talk ad revenue. When you have your website up and running and you want to make some extra money on it while adding to the value of the site what do you do? You find sponsors and place ads.
If you look above to the row of sites at the top of this screen you'll see stuff about Nissans, Infinitis, parts and stuff. Then you'll see Ads by Goooooogle. Well, that's an ad with benefits. You see, the ad provides more information than you would normally be able to have on your website by linking to a site with that provides a service or a product in which you do not. Also that ad shows your customers that you are affiliated with a huge company such as Google. It adds to the trust and integrity of your site because these companies don't allow just anyone to have an ad. Lastly, this ad pays you whenever someone ventures off to click on it.
How great is that? I mean seriously, you're getting paid because someone clicked on your ad. Now it's not a great big sum of money and it's got its rules to adhear to like anything else. For instance, the system is smart enough to know when you are clicking on your own ad. That's a bad thing. In turn, it's smart enough to know that one I.P. clicking on an ad several hundred times might be fraud. Lastly, these companies ask that you don't advertise their ad as a means of making money. In other words, don't write a note directly under it saying "Help Support Us By Clicking Here." Although that would be great, it's not quite moral. It doesn't help that company distinguish what is and isn't a good ad to run.
Once you've been approved to run an ad on your site, it's quite simple. You go to the company's site, design it, copy the html and paste it on your site. I've been tinkering around trying to figure who's got the best pay-per-click ads and I think Google has it hands down. There will be others tried out but so far I'm a Google man.
There are other methods like becoming an affliliate. As an affiliate you run an ad for a company and you get paid a commission once someone buys something from that company if they are directed from your ad. It's cool too and this money can add up quicker than the pay-per-click if your ads are good and your customers want those products and services.
There's more to come about ad revenue later. Right now I'm cooking. It's my own recipe; Orange Lotus Chicken.
BTW, for those who were actually interested in the Ask Uncle George, I decided that he'd actually answer questions for people new to the import world instead of stupid ones (typically one in the same) but his answers will be helpful. I think the comedy relies on that homemade bong/pipe.
This is Jayson and I'm out.
