I bought my dime about 3 months ago in perfect running order. I 've driven it twice (no need teasing myself till i get the ka setup). Its been sitting in my driveway for 2 of those three months. I think my fuel has gone bad in the mean time (or getting there). Anyway the car cranks but won't turn over i suspect it has something to do with the webers maybe being out of tune. I've got fuel, air, spark still nothing. Anyone know enough about tuning these carbs or troubleshooting them. If not their going on ebay.

If it cranks , its turning over. Im not sure but maybe your plugs are bad? I have seen it run rough over time sitting but not to the point where it doesnt start(at least not in 2 months). good luck.

What I usually see is just the idle(not idle speed)adjustment, it starts to run rough ocasionally.

maybe because your adjusting screws aren't set. what i do is turn the mixture screw all the way in and loosen it counter clockwise in two complete turns. as for idle, i turn my idle screw all the way in and loosen it counter clockwise in four complete turns. then i adjust the idle, fuel, and air from there. i'm not sure if we are running the same carbs, but i don't even know what carb i'm running! some weber carb but the owner didn't tell me which one... any help here? =)

I had a 45 DCOE with 33 chokes on my 65 corvair turbo F7 emultion tubes, 130 air jets and 160 mains. Great carb. Probably one of the best ever built. Also one of the hardest to tune. You have different chokes, emultion tubes, jets, air bleeds, idle jets, idle emultion tubes, accelerator pump jets, diaphragm volumes, and more. However very little should affect starting.

Try this, pull the hat off the float bowl and pull out the two smaller screws (idle jet assemblys) make sure they are clean and spray carb cleaner liberaly down the holes. make sure there is gas in the float chamber and reassemble. Don't worry about the mains yet. look into the chokes (venturis) and check for accelerator pump jet spray. If none, rebuild. May take a few pumps to prime it. Note: the jet spray is deep in the choke so look closely. Pull the idle adjustment screws out and spray cleaner in the holes. replace and back out 1 1/2 turn. On the back of the carb above and behind the throttle blades is a small lever, that is the starting enrichment circuit (the choke of traditional meaning). Spring loaded to return to normal operation. pull the lever and try to start the car. If it has any reason to start now it should, although it may run rough.

I have the Official factory weber tuning guide if you need any numbers for jetting or the like. I know this is an OLD post, but if anybody is still reading this.
