weak spark on a 20

so on cylinders 1,5,6 i have really weak spark. i have the car very well grounded with multi strand wire (8 gauge).tried split fire coil packs still same issue.changed the spark plugs.so there is a spark but very weak really couldnt find much int he search option.

the only thing i can think of is a bad connection. Like maybe corrision on one the connectors. I would use some electrical cleaner on all the ignition parts and see what happens.

Make sure the ignitor is well grounded. Also try another one if possible.

sounds like a failing ignitor.

put a different one in from a rb guy that i found by my house but still same thing.pulled out spark plug#3 and was clean as like new all others very black.took all coil and spark plugs out and turned the cas some had good spark some didnt,then i would move the spark plug closes to the head and it would start to arch to the head and the spark would be strong on the plugs that were weak before i moved them closer to the head.so i took a wire and attached one side to the ignitor chip and the other side to the head so that it would deffinitly would be grounded still same issue.

its a long shot but sometimes on the coil boots it gets moisture in there and the tips of the coils get corroded. You might try cleaning the ends.

if a plug is clean then an injector isnt firing...or there is no spark.

Exactly what I was about to point out. What was stated was the spark gets stronger as you place it closer to the head. This means that when the spark plug is installed, it is as close to the head as it can possibly get (threaded into the head). So that means you even verified that this plug gets spark. It is clean as a whistle, so that means with spark AND fuel, it should change colors. Note: *AND FUEL*, can't have one without the other. Seems one of your injectors needs to be checked out to see if it is spraying fuel.

Check the cam position sensor. Take it off the camshaft, turn the ignition on, and spin it. If you don't hear clicks in a fast and consistent pattern, then you need to replace it. I lost spark and fuel in four cylinders because of that sensor, and the car wouldn't even try to crank. Give that a shot. If that doesn't work, check or have your ECU checked. Hope this helps.
