Exactly what I was about to point out. What was stated was the spark gets stronger as you place it closer to the head. This means that when the spark plug is installed, it is as close to the head as it can possibly get (threaded into the head). So that means you even verified that this plug gets spark. It is clean as a whistle, so that means with spark AND fuel, it should change colors. Note: *AND FUEL*, can't have one without the other.
