Hello all,

There is a wire coming from the driver side firewall (pic1 below). Pic2 and pic3 are part of the wire. Eventually it leads to the relay on the passenger side wall (pic4 and pic5). The relay was actually disconnected when i got the car. Seems not used but nothing wrong so far. Can anyone help identify it?
Thank you very much.

None of that is original equipment. Wherever the wire leads to, under the dashboard inside the cab, may give you a clue as to what was added or what it was used for by a previous owner. I'm only guessing, but a 30A fuse makes me think there may have been a winch on the front bumper at some point.

Thank you! I checked and found under the dashboard the wire leads to an on/off switch. By the way, the wire is very similar to this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/225600981283 The on/off wire was spliced into that one. So as you said it might be a winch which was removed.

On a different note, I am assuming the hood pin switch, as shown here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pfhlqi ... sp=sharing, is not original as well. The switch is also disconnected and not used. Could it be part of the alarm system originally?

Thank you!

Could be. My old "91 XE did not have a security system either. I can't think of any other reason for the added switch, other than for an added security system that was once installed.

or maybe under the hood lighting that turns on when the hood is open so you can see in the dark. Now I want to add this to my current '02 SE.
