Hey, ive read your update about the turbo kit progress and had a few questions. since you are not going to sell a kit would you care to tell me/us what fuel management you are going to use. i remember you telling us about using an extra injector in the intake and thats what made me interested in your design. right now i have a temporary fuel management system but i want to hear some other good ideas. also, how were you going to run a oil return line without drilling a hole in the oil pan?

thanks man,Zak

I was going to attempt to use the oil pan drain plug but I'm just going to drill it like everyone else.

I've got a set of 8, 42lb injectors, four are going to run with my version of the hacked Z32 MAF and SAFCII and 4 will be run by an extra injector controller. I also use a stand alone alcohol injection kit for boost levels over 8psi since I won't be using lower compression or retarding the base timing at all.

Turbo is a TO4E with with a .60AR compressor in 50 trim and a .81 AR exhaust housing. It will induce quite a bit of lag, but will pull your teeth out over 4200 or so RPM. I'll also be using N20 for drag racing just to spool the turbo. It will be interesting...

nice man, cant wait to see some times. are you going to put the extra injectors in each of the intake runners?

The alky--Why are you having it come one at such a low bost level. Itll cause the motor to bog unless you are using a progressive controller. IF that turbo is nice and laggy, then id wait to have the turbo spool to at least 10 psi then have the alky kick on. Thats what im doing....

About the nitrous--how do i get the nitrous kit to cut off when i hit boost. i.e.--what little device/part/doohicky do i have to buy to make that work?Is it a nitrous cutoff switch of some kind?

I've been using N2O or Methonal for the last 6 years. I'm pretty versed in what makes a good kit and how to tune with it. I fabbed up my first kit with a hobbs switch and a Skyline fuel pump using N2O jets for sizing. Then I added my own rheostat to raise and lower pump volume.

Now I use a fully adjustable progressive controller. By starting the Methonal at 8 psi and adding it in proportion to boost I won't need to retard my timing maps. The key to making a really high hp motor is to run as much boost and timing as possible. So on pump gas alone your simply unable to run lean enough or enough timing to create very good numbers

By doing it this way, I should be making 35-55ish more HP then most other motors on the same amount of boost. Since the advanced timing is creating very high cylinder pressures by itself. Which in turn allows me more room with the turbo since I don't need as much boost to reach said hp goal. Less boost equals a cooler more efficient charge. All though I'm not to worried with this particular turbo.

The N2O will be turned off via a hobbs pressure switch. Just about every N2O brand offers this option, just ask the question when ordering.

I would use denatured alcohol which can be purchased as ACe Hardware or Lowes or any similar establishment.

awhile back you gave me a site to look at about the extra injector controller. how hard is it to actually control and tune with 4 extra injectors? are you running them on each intake runner or what?

The extra injectors are easy to tune, just set the boost turn on point and the gain and your done. The extra injectors can be done two ways, 1 or 2 in the intake pipe or 1 per runner, which is how I would do it.
