So I wasn't sure exactly where the best place would be to put this, but since it's not engine specific I guess this is as good a place as any.

I recently picked up most of the parts for a dry sump oiling system for an SR20 that I've been building for a while. While I was looking into this, I saw that there were power advantages to running a fair amount of vacuum in the crankcase. So that got me thinking, what are other ways that you could get a few extra HP while you've got everything apart and building up an engine.

Other things I was thinking about adding were these

Crank scraper/windage tray
ceramic coating the pistons for friction and heat rejection
port and polish

Anyone have any other tidbits that they have picked up along the way?
