Way to read 08 ex35 TMPS

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Just like every other person on this forum i have spent way to much time with this ridiculous limitation, but here we go again.

Winter tires = Stock TPMS sensors
Summer tires = Orange cloned TPMS sensors

It took a while before I found a mechanic who knew how the orange sensors worked but I finally got there.

My problem:
I just switched over to my winter rims and im getting the blinking to solid TPMS light right on start up, from what ive read its likely one of my stock sensors hit its end of life.

So I need to replace the dead sensor and find the Orange sensor that was cloning it and update that accordingly. My goal on my own would be to find out which TPMS sensor fried and its cloned brother.

The ATEQ tool doesn't seem to read the sensors on the tire, just what's already programmed into the car.

What would be the most affordable tool to read the codes from the tires themselves?

Thanks

Same thing happened to one of my Orange brand aftermarket sensor just last month when I put my winters on. I had to go to Canadian Tired here and had to bite the bullet. I did not know which wheel it was but I exlained they had programmed the Orange with the same codes as the OEM 4 years ago and wanted the new sensor to have the same code. For about 80$ they fixed it. All is fine now.

Oh and yes, the ATEQ tools does not read the ID off the tires.

What a pain this is for all of us... for how great Nissan/Infinity is, this is a shocking oversight on their part.

the best i have been able to find is the ATEQ VT30, that will enable me to read each tire... shame the lowest i can find it is $200.

Call or e-mail APEQ. I had problems before and they rented me that tool for a minimal price and shipping. Worked like a charm (I wanted to confirm that the Orange sensors ID were indeed programmed by Canadian Tire to emit the same code as the OEM). The ATEQ guy was amazing.

Option two is to go to a tire store and slip them a $10 to have them check which sensor is out....

Good luck
