Ok I bought my Versa in late October last year (2009) I've washed it many times, dried it and took very good care of keeping it clean and free of insects and other junk. My question is as this is my first ever new care, when do we wax? 6 months in.. a year? I want to protect the paint and body as best I can from the sun and insects in Florida. luckily I park in a covered spot while at work everyday but it does spend it's weekends in almost full sunlight. There's that and I actually like when it looks really clean and shiny too lol

I try to wax twice a year. I didn't clay the car though for the first time until this year (after owning her for 2 years).

We deal with snow/salt here so I will clay/wax her in the fall when it's time for the winter tires. And then again in the spring, and then the fall.

lol Ya I'm with iluvmyversa08 on this one. I wax my versa twice a year in the spring after all the snow and in the fall before all the snow. You can probably get away with waxing your once a year and same goes for clay bar since you live in Florida. I am saying this as long as you wash your versa with something that won't kill the wax ( i.e dishwashing soap)

Thanks for the responses. I used to wax my old (passion wagon a mercury tracer lol) once a year, twice if it sat for extended periods in the sun. I wash with armourall wash/wash every other month to keep the dead insects off it. I found out the hard way when washing my old Saturn that the love bugs here will if left on the paint, reduce it to the bare metal!
