Waxed the '99 Used Meguiars gold class paste, i think it came out pretty damn clean

The rims need polishing and i didnt put any tire dressing on to avoid "slinging"

Let me know what you think, and post up some clean pics if u got em

C-L-E-A-N!! I detailed the $#!T outta my QX4 about three weeks ago---washed it, clay bar'd it with meguiars clay bar kit, and then waxed it with meguiars cleaner wax. it was super clean till 20 mins later when my girl sent me out to get some mexican food....then i drove it through a friggin swarm of bees!!...been too lazy to do it all over again, but looking at your pics im pretty friggin motivated to git 'r done! i'll try postin pics when im done!

NICE your q is exactly like mine minus the wheels, its like im looking at my own truck lol I waxed mine 2 weeks ago and used meguirs color x and its great. Parked next to my dads just washed 2006 frontier which is also black....mine looked NEWER haha waxing your car is a great thing to do, so many people just dont do it and have really ugly paint later on. Just a saturday and some beers and you can detail your truck to make it look feel and smell BRAND NEW. i love that feeling haha i wish black was more dirt repelling but oh well. If i had the money to paint my truck and rid all the little scratches...i think gunmetal dark grey would look awesome.

You could always look at having your truck detailed (or do it yourself, buy a random orbit polisher like the one at Autopia and some polishes), which will get most of those little scrtches out, as they are in the clearcoat (unless you can catch your fingernail on them). Would save you big bucks over a repaint!

the wax looks good buddy. i plan on doin mine up and throwin some pics.i have a 2001 pathfinder, i was wondering what i should be looking for when buying rims what is my max clearance? offset? BoltPattern? you know crap like that. and if your in Ontario where is a good Rim shop if there is one out here?

I also have a problem on my hood, there was a clear bug deflector thing on the hood where the deflector would cover if i had one. anyway this pretector is peeling off and its a real pain to completely remove. anyone know of any tricks without damaging paint of course.

nothin' like a nicely polished black vehicle. . I haven't done anything to my QX4, but perhaps I should. . I also have a black Saab 92x that may benefit from this same treatment. . I bought the clay, just need to settle on what polish / wax I'll use.

http://www.mothers.com/productsCheck out mothers website its the third one down. Its basically used to remove any hard to remove contaminants on your paint and make it feel like"glass". Personally never used one but wanna try it this year.Fueler the QX looks sick, really need to get my finder waxed and ready for the summer Also what tires are you runnin?

Clay is amazing. . Just use lots of the quick detailer that comes with it as lube, rub it on the paint surface (don't press down, just let it glide over). . kneed it a bit as you go, and when you're done it feels like your ride is polished. . smooth as hell.

THEN you polish, and then wax.

Damn. I LOVE that green. Wish I could have found a green one like that when I was shopping. Black's a real BISH when it's over 90F out.

Its not hard for him, he lives in San Diego! It's never rainy or snowy & it's always sunny & like 75 with no humidity. He has sand & dust & he could avoid that if he wanted to.

BTW Fueler it looks nice & shiney & clean. If I can find a pic of mine washed & waxed or even cleaned a bit I'l post it.

Great pics fueler! And a side note regarding the clay bar...you can use the clay bar as you wash the car. In other words wash the car as usual with the sponge and hose to clean it and just wet the clay bar and use it with the soapy water. It's like a second sponge. Just make sure it's always wet, so dip it into the water now and then.

ditto on the green. . it's my favorite color for the QX4. I had a cobalt green pearl (dn1) 240sx before the QX4, and I believe that color was also used on the WD21 -- that looks sharp on that vehicle as well.

Awesome tip for the clay bar!! The qx4 seems alright, but I now also have a Saabaru with the usual crappy Subaru paint, and it def. needs it. . it's black, so I'll likely keep it in my garage and out of the sun.

damn guys you all keep them rigs clean!

haha as far as keeping a car clean in san diego... especially black its NOT easy. lets say you wash your baby off, wax it up real nice and put it bed for the night. In the morning, oh that beautiful sun rises and pretty much every flower in SoCal chooses to pollinate your car so by noon time your car is covered with pollen =/

Black Qx4s are sick... black anything to me is nice, but I can't live with trying to keep it clean anymore. Silver is my color just because I dont have to wash it for two weeks and it looks silver :D

Haha 2 weeks, the last time I washed the exterior of mine was some time in '07! I have gold one that doesn't show much dirt but probably wouldn't care if it was black either.
