you have to remember, ill be doing this with a nearly stock car, coilovers, exhaust, and some sort of tire will be my only performance mods put there...while you have the sr, the v mount, the bar thatll be a cage, etc etc
i just want to get running events, my plan is to start NASA time trial 3 years from now, plus other events of that nature, plus run HPDE, instructing asap, and ill run HPDE's as much as possible for the next 2 summers to get to that point
once im out of school and have spent enough money on track days to build up experience, then im going to build my car into a monster, and plan to eventually go for overall wins at the time trials and such, not just class wins
its a good plan to keep it simple at first and then upgrade to power later. I have mild power and some safety, i am still learnign as every always does even after 40 track events, but i am starting to outdrive my car as it is, a better suspension and bucket seats and my car will be a great time on track with relativly low power in comparison (250whp). Mostly i spend my money on track events, just not as many as i want to do, i would kill to do 8 events a year. Once i am to the insructor status i wont have to worry abotu paying for events, but you still have to pay for the first 15-16 events minimum.

this is the ideal way to learn, but odds are most people star off with a powerful car or a car with some mild work done to it, and slowly upgrade over time. If you were towed in 2x, maybe you shoudl have takin it a little easier, i know personally over the past 2 and a half years of track events, i havnt gone off track or been towed in yet, at the same time im still pushing my car very hard but not getting carried away because its just an HPDE (drivers education) not a race. As much as i have had people bad mouth the 240 as a track car, i have had nothing but success and fun with mine, on track is where they belong for sure.
