Waterpump Belt Problem On 84 non-turbo Nissan 300ZX

My belt broke and I have purchaced a new one. My question to anyone who can answer it is how do I take off the rotating disk that the belt wrapps around. I'm not that smart when it comes to vehicle part terms so please explain like I am a dumbass...thanks!!!

Buy Haynes manual. Read instructions. You don't take anything off to replace belts.

^^^ except for the belt, anyhow. He is right, you only need to loosen some bolts or nuts.

I gotta say I don't recall for sure but the waterpump is driven by the alternator belt IIRC? in which case you'll loosen the alternator pivot it over and put the new belt on, pull the alternator tight and tighten the belt

no offence but if you're having trouble replacing a belt you might try and fine someone a bit more mechanically inclined to be there and help when you do it

I have to take the fan belt off because it blocks me from the waterpump belt that is why I am confused

the fan is bolted to the waterpump you might have to sort of lace the belt over the fan to get it in place but you don't have to unbolt the fan from the waterpump
