Ok so last week I discovered a pool behind my passenger seat in the floor where the backseat passengers are supposedly supposed to put their feet. It rained hard and windy alot that week and I was parked on a funny hill with the sunroof poped up so I though it was just from that. I threw a towel back their to soak it all up and wrang it out and put another towel back their to hopefully suck up the rest of the water from the carpet and eventually dry it. Yesterday I felt the towel and it was just damp. As expected. It rained all day today, but just a constant relentless sprinkle. A typical dreary winter rainy day. No wind, no downpours, nothing just never ending sprinkles and mist. so I know no water came in my sunroof. I just pulled the towel out of my car a few min ago and it was SOAKING wet. I had to wring it out again just to be able to bring it inside... And not only that but the carpeting is so wet if you touch it you can see water pooling around your finger...

This will rust a hole in my floor in no time flat if I don't figure out whats causing this and make it stop.

Any Ideas??

feel the backside of your rear seat at the floorboard. if it is wet, remove your spare tire. check to see if the drain plugs are there. if not that usually fills up with water. add a f*** up hill in the mix and you probably gonna have the water run right inder the backseat. im assuming u have a hatch like me tho.

I know the tail lights leak... I don't have a spare tire and I removed the drain plug from back their when I first got the car so many years ago.. This is coming from somewhere closer to the front of the cabin...

I have a SE hatch. Is it possible for the drain line for the sunroof to come dislodged and drain into the floor behind the passengerseat instead of out under the car?? Their is no damage on that side of the car so ... IDK Just a guess I came up with since I been contemplating it

my hatch gathers water in the tire hole if i dont have plugs in. i dunno if its kicked up from the tires or the air pushes it in there or my hatch weatherstripping may leak. but your problem lies within one of those. my bet would be the plugs. especially if you dont have the spare. that blocks a lot of water

I have the same problem. I have a VERY leaky sunroof though so I've always thought that was the culprit. Have a friend spray water on your car while you sit inside.

I had the same problem, it ended up being the washer nozzle for the back window....the little seal was pretty much missing. Sit in the car and have someone spray the car with a hose, then you can see where the water is coming in. hope this helps
