It looks a little ghetto to me, never even heard of the site. Greddy FMIC ftw.

Well, you can potentially get over 100% intercooler efficiency. Try that with an air/air setup, it just won't happen.

You also get incredible throttle response because of the very short piping involved.

Basically its the bomb.com if you have the determination to get 'r done.

I was considering it for a bit, but you have to replace the water pretty often and if something fails on your not gonna be over 100% intercooler efficient. But hey be different and give it a shot and let us know how you like it. A basic kit is good to 350hp for $280, but you still need piping and what not. My local supplier http://www.siliconeintakes.com...3e0cd sells the same ones.

Back when I boosted my old F20C we welded walls 3 inches high to the top of the FMIC and had small drain holes drilled into the walls at the bottom. Depending on the riving it would be filled with Ice block or dry ice.

Work amazing for the cost of some alum and tig welding.

How exactly would that happen? A water to air intercooler setup circulates water through the core even when the car is not moving. This is especially useful during drag racing, when the core temperature raises significantly during a pass, and then the car sits still for several minutes waiting for the next pass

These seem like great intercoolers for any turbo application. Many are so caught up in a "one-way" approach to their cooling systems that they forget there are MANY worthy of mention. Considering the price and proven effectivenesss of a2w ic i'll prob give it a try.

Im not an engineer, but what is going to cool down the water, that after driving for a while, gets hot and is circulating all around the intercooler?

Most if not all a2w ic kits come with a coolant res. a small fan/rad and ELECTRIC PUMP check the pics at the thread start.

The one on the subaru looks to be a PWD barrel intercooler (http://www.pwr-performance.com/intercooler.htm) which seems expensive as compared to the "box" type if you will counterpart.

I am surprised there is not more info here on nico regarding these.

It works exactly as it sounds...water to air. Instead of air passing through the fins on your radiator, imagine water passing through them. Then the water has a radiator all to itself to cool down again before it goes back into the intercooler.

you guys need to google how it works because it is more efficient than air to air.
