Water Temp Sporadic Fluctuation

Hi,

I have a problem that is baffling me. My water temp gauge is acting very very strange.

After the car warms up, my temp stays a little below halfway to hot. The odd thing is, when I rev the car in neutral, the gauge drops to all the way cold and wobles. After the RPM's return to idle, the gauge returns to its normal state. When I am driving at a constant speed with the car in gear, the needle stays normal, but when I press the accelerator, the needle again burys into cold.

Is this a problem? The car never heats up past halfway, so I know it's not overheating.

Can anybody shed some light ?

Check the connector in the wire that plugs into the sensor. Mine was doing the same thing, and then the connector fell apart in my hand as I was pulling it off.

yeah do the wiggle test on the connection.

Alrighty...So where is this sensor? Do you have a pic or a diagram?

Ha ha ha yeah your is doing the same thing mine is. Definitely check the connector, mine is actually at the plug that runs to both the cts and the water temp gauge sensor.
