Yeah. Search engine isn't working

The link above is a radiator hose adapter for a water temp sensor. I need to get a water temp gauge setup. I believe I seen these adapters for cheaper somewhere else.
Where can I get this adapter and a gauge for a cheap prices.

One other thing. Is it better to mount on the bottom or top radiator hose?

Thanks again everyone :)

Shouldn't matter (not 100% sure though) I would go with the top so its easier to replace.

Any one else have any input on where I should get this stuff?

I cant remember the direction of flow but isn't it better to know the temperature coming out of the engine rather than out of the radiator?

Anyone else have a little input?

Thanks :)

put it on the TOP hose, coming out of the intake, you wont get even a remotely decent reading out of the bottom hose, unless your sitting in traffic with the fans off.....

Thanks
One other thing. I heard the 38 millimeter adapter is probably to big.
Can anyone else confirm that the 34 millimeter is the correct size?

you can prob get them cheapest on ebay, but I suspect after they include shipping your going to pay at least $30 either way. thats what I use, but if I had it to do over again I would spend the extra $20 and get the water neck adaptor and not have to cut my hose. prob still will at some point.

34mm is what you need. not to point out the obvious but the pic you posted is off "240sxmotoring" and the one they list is 34mm.

for a true coolant reading..you should put your sending unit on the block...its the most acurate temp reading you can get as its the hottest place on your car...i did that by bypassing alot of un-nessesary coolant crap for the heater core and return lines and use that hole..the threads match up nicly...i allso recomend a nice autometer gauge man..there inexpencive and reliable..allso..use a mechanicle if you have the choice...electronic guages can be tempromental..good luck

Thanks a bunch guys.
But what difference would I see between mounting at the hose and block?

can you give more details and explain what un-nessesary crap are you referring to? because its sounds like what you mean is a heater core delete and honestly, (to me anyway) that doesn't sound like a good idea(I like my defroster).

well..ya its the heater core...i live in vegas..it rarely gets under 30 in the winter and stays over 100 in the summer even at midnight..so no defroster needed....allso..i should mention...its a sometimes track car...now let me explain a bit...the heat from your engine comes from ignition with-in the cylinders..following me so far?...as your coolant tarvels..it cools in different parts of the system...still with me?..so the hottest place and most acurate would be next to the cylinderwall....if you look at your heater hoses..you will notice one hose enters the block just inbetween cyl #3 and 4 at mid way point of the block..thats an ideal place for a sending unit to get the most acurate reading for coolant temps....this will let you know your true temp reading at its most critical place..the cylinderwall where it all happens..good luck what ever you decide.

Like has been said. Don't waste your money! You DON"T have to get rid of anything to put it on the block. Use the block drain plug hole down under the exhaust mani. Its 1/4 NPT. With the right sending unit you don't even need an adapter!

Yeah after hearing that, I'm almost thinking about not using the coolant hose adapter. Is that plug on KA and SR. I'm rockin a KA right now. But I wonder how different putting a sending unit at the plug and in the hose would be?
