Ok here goes my temp gauge will go up to the hot side when I am driving on the interstate or in the city. I can turn the car off while driving and the temp needle will go and go back up as I am driving along. Tonight I drove it back home with needle going to the hotside and I parked the car and let it idle for about ten minutes and the darn needle went back down. I have been trying to figure this one out for a while. Here is what I have done in the many times of trying to find a resolution. I have change both sensors on the outlet tube, I have absolutely no leaks, I have tested the thermostat I have pulled the water pump and verified it as good, I made sure I had no pinched lines on the back after my water bypass was completed, I have fully burped the car many times. I have flushed the system (at home) no debris. Could my major line that run from the bottem of the rad to the inlet hose could be closing or could there be a block in the heater core? Please help.

how old is your radiaor? Sounds like it has some blockage in it causeing high speeds to overheat, but just enough flow to cool it when the engine isn't battleing drag and that much heat. Had the same issue with m rx7, replaced, all is well.

That could be the problem because that rad looks like it may the original in the car.

You can flush it all day long, "may" unclog it, but I doubt it, especially if it is original. Good time to upgrade! I would definitely get a new one, make your life a lot less stressful, besides running it hot or overheating will destroy your engine.

Ok I have not ruled out the fact of replacing the rad but I really feel that the RAD is good but I was reading TT.net and decided to check my clutch fan. They said check with car off after a drive and this is what I found. Tell what you think.

Here is a vid of what I did. I know this maybe wrong but I cannot figure it out this morning. Brain fart.

Fixed you video embed code. Pretty sure mine spins just as much. Not 100% though, as I've never done it right after I turn the car off.

I seriously doubt it's your fan clutch. If it is happening at highway speeds, the air flow from the speed is greater than the fan can pull. I would go back and look at the radiator. It's not an internal clog, but external you need to look for. The fins are close together on these radiators and get clogged with dirt. No air can get through after a time. You could probably take it to a carwash and pressure wash the dirt out from between the fins. Make sure you blow the water into the fan side to force the dirt back out the way it came in.
