Just wondering if anyone has installed an electric water temp gauge. Any hints?

Going to do that in 2 weeks. I'm going to stick a VDO Temperature Sender inside the tap hole on a Blitz Upper Radiator Hose. All wiring to the electrical temperature gauge will be appropriately done for neatness and saftey.

I'm running a defi gauge. Drilled a hole in the water outlet off the block and used a 1/8 NPT tap for the probe. Threaded it in and boom...all done. Didn't have to buy an (overpriced ) blitz hose, nor cut my stock hose for the GReddy or Nissport adapter.

You need both a drill bit and a tap. Go to a hardware store and get a 1/8 NPT (1/8-27) tap and the appropriate sized drill bit.

Drill the hole, then tap the hole, then thread the sensor in

I believe the GReddy is a 1/8PT, not 1/8NPT.

I have a defi-link gauge, but it's the imperial units one, so the sensor is 1/8NPT. If I had the metric units gauge the sensor would have come in 1/8PT.

I installed the sender in my upper radiator hose using the Nissport gauge adapter. Install was simple and I didn't have to drill any hose in my the coolant housing.

I drilled and tapped the Water neck. 1/8" NPT tap and for the guy that asked I believe it was a 11/32nd drill bit. I am running an Autometer gauge and sensor. I question if they values are impaired a bit by the hot azz exhaust manifold right next to the water neck, but it is pretty close.
