i have a 91' cpe with sr redtop. everything is basically stock.
today, on a straight away close to my house i opened it up in 3rd gear. As i passed 5K rpms i noticed my water temp went all the way down... once i let off the temp gauge went back to about the middle, where it usually is. cant seem to figure out why. any insight?

Off hand I'd guess you have a loose connection to the gauge or temp sensor. Or the gauge is on its way out. If its consistently doing it at the same intervals then its probly electrical but if its sporadic I'd say the gauge is most likely shot. Try and narrow the cause while you drive the car. How does it act during braking, speed bumps, at idle and dif rpms. That should give you more insight as to the cause.

if i had to guess i would say your thermostat is stuck partially open, or your experiencing cavitation of the water pump. i lean to the tstat tho.

Mine does the same thing and its the the connector on the temp sensor itself. Sometimes its fine, other times it acts up when i jump on it.
