Stoners Glass cleaner.

Its in an aerosol.. dont breathe it in...

Wipe it all off with crumpled newspaper, the best glass cleaner there is out there!

yeah!? this will remove the waterspots? I think the ammonia in the newspaper ink helps clean as well...

man, I`ve tried everything on many of my other vehicles and once the sun burns them in, I can`t get them out... I will try stoners as soon as I locate it... thanks again...

If it's 'burned in' like you said, its not a water spot and cleaner will not remove it. You've probably got etching from acidic water or some bird shat. If it's only minor you may be able to razor blade the windshield using a lot of cleaner or something as lubricant. If it's bad you'll need to polish extremely lightly and carefully with a fine polish like Meguiars ScratchX or PlastX.

Edit: Double check to make sure that the product is ok for glass.

Man, I`ll tell ya, it gets insane reading threads on other forums all over about water stains and spots on the windshield.I`ll give the stoners a try when I get to wally world in a few days.

has anyone tried Bon Ami? I have read that it will clean the spots off and not scratch the glass...

I`m uncertain if the spots are mineral deposits left after the water has evaporated, or if it is etching.I can say it happened very quickly. the car is only a few weeks old and the windshield looks like crap... very annoying...

I can also say that the automatic sprinklers played a part i it as did the rain, then the sun came out and heated up the glass...

ok, time to try something here, vinegar didn`t do squat!...

Do not use RAIN X..it works at first. and usually keeps on, but the windows eventually look like your eyes do when u just wake up and they are all watery.. lol kinda like a film over the window. I used it on my cars, and i always get upset later, cause of the result. . over time. Maybe I am doing something wrong, or not enough of something.

Its just like waxing where you have to wipe it off pretty well. Maybe you are leaving too much on your windshield.

i dunno about rain x dude. it leaves a weird looking sheen on your windshield after a while. but the water does bead off nicely.i dont like that sheen it leaves where the wipers contact the glass, nope, not for me. i wouldnt recommend it.

I've been using Rain-X for over a decade now on all of my cars... I've never had problems with an odd sheen, hazing or the like. The only times I have seen issues with it are when your glass isn't COMPLETELY clean before application or you don't make sure that the haze has been THOROUGHLY wiped off... You've got to remember: the polymer is meant to fill in the tiny surface cracks on the glass, it's NOT meant to be left as a coat on the entire surface of your windshield.

Hmmm... How much do you apply? Are you using the pure bottle or the spray? Is it pure Rain-X or the cleaner/protectant?

Lol, Look, im not trying to be rude, but i aint trying to hear "maybe u put to much on" if i wipe it to were its no more showing, or nothing on the windsheld.. i assume its been rubbed in correctly. Lol, and it DOES leave a sheen after a while.. and when other cars come by u see it in the window. Do i need a professional RAIN-X job to my windows? lol cause i know i apply it correctly. It just ends up looking weird in the end, and is a pain. They bead off, but its like a foggy window were it wont unfog well. . that "haze" shows up all over the window. But i could be doing it wrong.. idk i stopped using it. lol

Oh, I don't mind being called out so long as I can reciprocate!

If you didn't get good results with it, that's your opinion. But please don't try to negate someone else's when you can't even make up your mind as to whether you're using the product correctly or not.

In your first post in this thread you said:
Kanard wrote:Maybe I am doing something wrong, or not enough of something.
Then you assume you're doing it right, then you say you know you're doing it right, then you say you might be doing it wrong...

Soo... when you make up your mind, get back to us! And until then, don't get lippy when someone tries to offer their experience and/or help.

Target had Stoners on sale the other day!

If I can find the time, I could possibly do a write-up... If ppl would honestly be interested? I've also made good use of their anti-fog stuff on the interior of the car, but I'm getting ready to get a tint-job and I'm pretty sure that could cause adhesion problems.

update:tried Bon Ami, with a sponge and water, really didn`t do anything except clean the surface, but spots still there... Stoners same dif, cleaned windshield but spots still there. said what the hell and put rain X on twice cleaned windshield and maybe it took off some spots, but the many spots are still there which looks hazy like before any cleaning, guess I`m stuck with a spotted windshield on a brand new car... crap...

Stoners also makes a repair polymer to fill in cracks and chips... you could try that?

I don`t think that is the issue, the car is only one month old either the sprinkler or rain or from washing the car with hose water, then the sun drying the water, don`t really know how fast it happened, but the sopts are there to stay oh well...

Rain X has a new glass scrubber out that i just picked up at Pep Boys, so i`ll try that on the Versa before I apply the Rain X repellent.

Ahhh... I was going so far as to assume they were possibly etchings in the glass as had been mentioned previously in the thread...

I've seen the Xtream Clean or whatever Rain-X calls their glass/plastic scrub. They also have the bug/tar remover which does a good job of softening crap that's stuck on your car before having to resort to scrubbing it.

With GREAT CARE, I've seen people use SoftScrub (the household cleaner) on their cars... I've done it a few times on the windshield, but haven't dared try anywhere else. It makes sense, though... The first place I was ever told to use the stuff was the acrylic surface of our hot tub, which shows scrapes and the like horribly; and SoftScrub was the only recommended cleaner.

I use a 3M glass cleaner which seems to be very powerful... give that a try usually 3M is good with their products. Just make sure you don't follow the directions and spray a lot more than you think you need since you got a tough problem.
