I'm getting some fluid "sloshing' or splashing sounds from behind the dash upon acceleration on occasion when HVAC is on (not sure if it does it when HVAC off).

Perhaps some air in the cooling system, or is this indicative of a bigger problem?

Maybe just a tad low.

Put nose of car up let cool down and top off. There is also a procedure in manual so u dont have to raise nose of car but I dont bother with it usually.

Agreed... check the coolant level. I've had the same noise shortly after a flush, and topping everything off after the air had a chance to settle out cured it. The heater core runs wide open at all times - using a door to direct the air through it at the necessary rate - so that's where your noise is probably coming from even though you're not using the heat right now.

A good possibility the A/C drain may be stopped up. Over a period of time debris will collect in the cowl area and make its way down to the evaporator case and clog the drain. Water will build up in the case and make a sloshing noise, you may notice it more after the vehicle is driven for some time and when you make sharp turns to the left or right. The other conclusion is what the others metioned about an air pocket in the cooling system.

Hmmmm.

Well, the A/C drain still works (leaves quite a puddle when i park).

I just went out to check coolant level and couldn't add even a tsp of water...

raise the nose.

If need be run teh heater on full heat (85F) then shut off car all this with raised nose.

Then let cool down.Should be some space to be found .if not lightly knead some cooling hoses to force bubbles to top.
