After searching I found some interesting info but no definitive answers. I do know the FWD DE pump is a little different, with a difference in the front plate where the pulley/fan bolts on and the lack of a c-clip in the back. Not a good choice for mounting a fan/clutch assembly.

What I'm wondering is, has anyone tried or succeeded in using a RWD CA20E or CA18ET pump? They both are designed to have fans/clutches attached.

Someone did say they were using one; I forget who. but it was in the past 2 weeks or so, try digging through the threads about water pumps in that timeframe, he said he used a CA18ET pump.

I don't recall whether he said he was USING it or that he had INSTALLED it (but not yet installed motor).

Part #'s show that the RWD & FWD variants of both CAxxE(T) and CAxxDE(T) are interchangable as far as bolting on, altho experience indicates a difference in ability with regards to FWD parts on RWD motors (when using mech. fans). It WILL bolt up, and should work fine as it was intended for a mechanical fan.

I saw the thread about the CA18ET pump. No word yet on how it worked out.
