If my water pump stopped working in my 240 and caused my car to overheat, could that cause blue smoke to blow out of tailpipe and engine head........from all the heat.......maybe it started burning the oil in the engine???????

Thanks,Joe

You probably overheated the motor, warped the head, and blew out the headgasket.

Sounds like a blown head to me too.

if it was blown bad enough it may blow your head gasket bad enough to burn oil but i would think that you would see a lot of white smoke from your cooling system. my experience with blue smoke usually means either bad rings or bad valve guides.

Overheating the head can also destroy your valve seals, which would cause your blue(oil) smoke.
