Water pump

Has anyone ever heard of the water pump causing the idle to be off and the car to loss power in the higher RPMS. I have been having an issue with my car and today I heard a loud pop and the car sounded a lot better. I looked under the car to see where the pop came from and there was water pouring out from under the pump and the belt popped off. I am still waiting for a new pump since the place I get my parts is closed for Formula D. Just seeing if anyone else has had the same issue or believes this could be the problem I have been having.

Where did you get your pump from? I think mines bad, my car overheats and i tried to replace the thermostat but thats not it. So ima try the water pump next. thanks.
