I'm thinking about buying a 240 with a CA. The seller is telling me that it is leaking a small amount of coolant from the water pump. He says that all I would need to do is take it out and re seal it. I don't know much about the CA yet, but shouldn't the new water pump come with a seal? Or do you actually have to use something like RTV?

I am about 600miles from the seller, so I can't so easily as go check it out for myself.

Thanks in advance!

I forgot to add that he just installed a new one

Two things pop into my head.

The first is that replacing/repairing the water pump isn't that hard to do, why wouldn't he just fix it before he sold it?

If he did replace the water pump, did the car overheat before he replaced the pump? If so, he might have warped the head.

Just keep those things in mind. Might take a compression tester with you when you go to check it out as well.

Thank you for backing up my thoughts. I have a CA in the works right now and I saw this guy selling a CA powered 240 for less than the cost of the motor and accessories themselves.
