Water Pump Replacment

1996 I30 250+ miles, runs good but need replace the water pump, do i have to take the whole engine out to do? Also should I replace the timing chain now?

No, you don't have to remove the engine. It will be a pain in the butt, though. It would probably be a good idea to replace the timing chain tensioners, and inspect the chain for wear.

I did this on my '95 maxima. It can be a 2 hour job, but it can also be about a 6 hour job depending on how much trouble you have. It takes patience and will result in bloody knuckles If you have any trouble working from the FSM, just post up and I'll be happy to help.
